COAS: Charge officers, soldiers to be relentless, follow rules

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, has inaugurated a newly constructed Multipurpose edifice at the 63 brigade headquarters in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu in Asaba on Friday.

According to the statement, Yahaya said the project was the first of its kind, and that the project, which comprises soldiers’ accommodation, Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, Soldiers’ Club and a Gymnasium, would bring succour and value addition to the general wellbeing of the troops.

In his words, “I thank the officers and soldiers of the Brigade, for their selfless sacrifice in defence of fatherland and service to humanity.”

Yahya however urged the soldiers and all military officers to be relentless and remain professional always by conforming with the extant Rules of Engagement and Standing Orders in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
